About PWA

Our Mission

The Public Works Authority is an independent, non-governmental reference library built to support municipal public works departments with standards-based operational guidance. We exist to give every director, supervisor, and frontline worker access to the kind of practical, field-tested knowledge that used to live only in the heads of experienced practitioners.

What We Do

We curate and publish operational standards, best practices, policy templates, and technical guidance across every core public works discipline:

Why Independent?

We are not a government agency, professional association, or vendor. Our resources carry no political agenda and no advertising. That independence means the guidance we publish is evaluated purely on its operational merit — not on who paid to be featured.

Public works is powered by the people who show up every day — custodians, mechanics, engineers, budget directors, project managers. The #IAMDPW initiative exists to recognize those individuals and build a community where practitioners can share knowledge and support one another across organizational boundaries.
